The Xtenzi MMO 3.5mm Cable Adapter allows audio playback for mobile devices with compatible vehicles.

With my new Audi Q5, I wanted to implement the Kinovo BTC 450 Bluetooth Kit, but I ran into an issue since my car did not have a auxiliary input. Instead, it shipped with a factory Audi MMI iPod adapter (30-pin) which would not work for my desired setup. The OEM MMI adapters were expensive ($75+) so I looked for an aftermarket alternative that would get the job done. After doing some research, I found the Xtenzi MMI 3.5mm Cable Adapter on Amazon, which retailed for the low price of $29.99. One side features the MMI connection and the other side features a male 3.5mm connection.

IMG_8054I wasn't impressed by the product's packaging by any means, but since it is such an insignificant accessory it wasn't that big of deal. I bet if I purchased the OEM MMI adapter it would have shipped in a similar basic wrapping. I purchased the “extra long” version which included 2 meters of cable length since I wasn't sure how I was going to be wiring the cabling and did not want to fall short.

Installing this cable adapter was a very simple process that just involved unplugging the previous iPod MMI cable which is located in the glove compartment on my Q5 model. Then I just needed to plug in the Xtenzi MMI 3.5mm cable adapter and I was good to go!

My Q5 automatically recognizes the MMI cable as an auxiliary input and works with any smartphone, computer, tablet, and my Kinovo BTC 450 in a flawless fashion. This solved my initial problem without spending too much money (like I would have with a factory OEM cable) and featured a simple installation.

In the end, I think the Xtenzi MMI 3.5mm Cable Adapter is the best option for someone whose looking to add an auxiliary connection into their MMI-compatible Audi or Volkswagon. I have no issues with the quality, price, or performance of this particular accessory and would highly recommend it to any prospective buyers.
