Are you stuck in your effort to choose a new web host? Have you narrowed it down to HostGator and GoDaddy, but unsure of which hosting provider to go with? Well you're in luck, I'm going to break down each web host and compare the two in a variety of different areas to ultimately pick an overall winner in terms of value on the dollar.
HostGator is one of the most popular hosting companies used by webmasters and web developers as they are known for their quality service and excellent customer support. Sure, they do have a reputation as being slightly more expensive in comparison to competitions like GoDaddy, but the performance and reliability improvement you receive by choosing HostGator is well worth it, which is the consensus among those who are involved in the web industry.
GoDaddy's reputation is dramatically different then Hostgator's and not in a good way. GoDaddy is known for slow performance, terrible support, billing issues, long downtimes, and sneaky pricing strategies. Overall, HostGator exceeded GoDaddy in terms of reputation, features, and performance. GoDaddy did beat HostGator in terms of pricing, but at the expense of receiving a mediocre quality service in return. I have personally used HostGator and GoDaddy hosting previous websites so I know first hand what it is like to do business with both companies. That being said, I whole heartedly recommend choosing HostGator over GoDaddy as their quality performance and support makes up for the price different rather quickly. The level of frustration that is added into the situation by choosing a cheap web host like GoDaddy is not worth it by any means and if you still decide to go with GoDaddy, be ready for the worst as I wanted to pull my hair out just a week after signing up with them which ultimately made me switch to HostGator.
