Yi’s Newest Action Cam Will Offer 4K at 60 Frames Per Second

Next week is one of the biggest tech events of the year, CES 2017. At the show, there are many new products announced and technology advancements that won't see a mass market release for quite some time.

However, the action camera space which used to be dominated by GoPro is evolving as the company fails to continue to innovate and newcomers like Yi have room to step in and gain market share.

The original Yi ‘4K' action cam offered competitive specs (that rivaled the GoPro Hero 4 Black) at an affordable price-point. A second generation 4K+ model is planned to be announced at CES which packs a first for action cameras, with 4K at 60fps.

While the full spec sheet is still under wraps, sources are saying it will offer the same 2.19-inch display, 2 hours of battery life and built-in Wi-Fi video streaming.

Alongside their new flagship action camera, Yi is expected to announce their new Erida Drone which is said to be able to reach up to 75 mph for up to 40 minutes.
