The US-based Virgin Mobile stores have confirmed that they will be receiving Apple's newest iPhone 8 and 8 Plus models come September 29th. This makes it an entire week later than every other US carrier and will likely be a sore subject for their customers since the service switched to an iPhone-only business model on June 27th.
Why the delay? Virgin Mobile hasn't made this clear yet, but pre-orders will begin on the 22nd which is the same day every other carrier is shipping the highly sought after device. As for the higher-end iPhone X, the current pre-order date falls in line with the rest of the carriers, yet there is no word on whether the availability will also be delayed.
