Ubisoft Confirms ‘Far Cry 4’ With A November 18th Release

A recent financial report from game publisher Ubisoft has confirmed the existence of the next installment in their popular Far Cry series. According to Ubisoft, Far Cry 4 has a scheduled release of November 18th, 2014 although I wouldn't get your hopes up just yet. Ubisoft is notorious for announcing earlier than anticipated release dates just to push them back to a later date. Recent examples include Tom Clancy's The Division which was delayed from a late 2014 to a 2015 release just yesterday as well as the highly anticipated title Watch Dogs which was due out in for the 2013 holiday season, but was postponed last-minute and rescheduled for release on May 27th.

There is not much details known about Far Cry 4 just yet although we do know the storyline will take place in Kyrat, a made up region of the Himalayas, that is under the cruel govern of a self-appointed king. Other than that, there isn't much known at the moment although retailers are already offering pre-orders for the next-gen title.

Those who choose to pre-order in advanced will be able to get an unlock code for an exclusive mission pack called Hurk's Redemption which consists of three single-player missions on the quest for an ancient artifact while using a harpoon gun dubbed “The Impaler“.

While this is still unconfirmed, here is the potential box art as seen on Amazon:
