Many people have been wondering when HP was going to finally released their Slate 7 tablet and their online store has confirmed today is the day. For those of you who aren't familiar, the HP Slate 7 is a 7″  tablet that runs on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. Inside you will find Beats Audio integration, an ARM A9 Dual Core 1.9Ghz processor, 1 GB of RAM as well as Bluetooth 2.1 and Wi-Fi support. It comes standard with 8GB of internal storage, but this can be easily increased via the available MicroSD port.

The Slate 7's LCD screen is running a resolution of 1024 x 600 and has multi-touch support. With a battery capable of 5 hours of continuous video playback, you won't find yourself needing to plug in just to finish a movie. There is a camera located on the front (VGA) and the back (3MP) which are fairly marginal compared to today's tablets, but for the price range are appropriate. I think this tablet is a killer deal and here's why: it only costs $169.99! Yes, you heard me right, a relatively decent 7-inch Android tablet for under $170.

The HP Slate 7 is available today via their online store with color choices of red and silver.
