If you’ve been into the gaming world at all over the past decade chances are you’ve played a Street Fighter game whether it be at your home or in an arcade. The franchise developed by Capcom has captivated millions of fans over the years and has evolved into a pretty serious professional league who compete to see who is the best fighter in the world.
With the gaming world transitioning to more complex formats of game titles, Capcom knew they had to add in a new element to keep their audience happy and engaged for next month’s release of Street Fighter V. With this they came up with a full story mode, a first for the franchise. According to the series producer Yoshinori Ono who spoke with Engadget about the title, his goal was “to develop a story mode that essentially bridges the events of Street Fighter VI with Street Fighter III”.
Within this campaign mode, they are expected to deliver an hour of in-game 3D cinematics and several hours of additional gameplay though no finalized numbers on these aspects just yet. While Street Fighter V will debut on PS4 and PC on February 16th, the story mode will not be available until June and will be offered as a free download for anyone who purchases the title.
Pre-order a physical copy of Street Fighter V via Amazon Prime and get the title for only $47.99 (10% off regular $59.99 price).
