While Microsoft has yet to announced a Japanese release date for their Xbox One, Sony is prepping for the launch of their PS4 this weekend. They have also announced an upcoming limited edition console for Metal Gear Solid fans to commemorate the launch of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.
Dubbed the “Fox Edition”, the special console isn't much different from a standard version and is one of the least impressive limited edition consoles to date. While it does comes bundled with a copy of the new MSG title, the only real cosmetic changes are made up of minimal vinyl skinning.
The real issue here is the price tag as the LE model will sell for $462 versus the regular edition that's priced at $413. Since Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is launching on March 18th with a $40 price tag, you're essentially paying an extra $9 for a cheap vinyl sticker with a fox on it.
Regardless, this PS4 model will hit store shelves in Japan on March 20th and no further details are known as to whether it will be released in any other countries including the U.S.
