As the shift from camera tech moves from DSLR to mirrorless, companies like Canon and Nikon are losing their grip on all aspects of the market. Included in this is the high-end lens market as companies like Tokina, Tamron and Sigma are continuing to release more affordable lenses that offer the comparable build quality and performance.
Sigma, in particular, has had a massive success with their ART lineup which boasts incredible optical performance and stellar build. While consumers have been asking for Sigma to produce more models within the ART line, it took them a few years to truly deliver on this with a periodic release once in awhile.
Today, Sigma has officially announced three brand new models to the ART lineup (with another coming to their ‘Contemporary' line), and these are some of the most exciting announcements that we have seen from the company:
- Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Art
- Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art
- Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art
- Sigma 100-400mm F5-6.3 DG HSM OS Contemporary
While the announcement is official, we do not know all that many details like pricing or release information. At launch, the new lenses will follow suit with their existing ART models being offered in Canon EF, Nikon F or Sigma SA mounts with Sigma's MC-11 adapter available for Sony shooters.
