Apple's new line of iPhones do not officially hit stores until this Friday, yet the technology giant has officially released iOS 8 earlier this afternoon. This update was just rolled out a few hours ago so be patient as download times are going to slow for the next day or so due to the massive influx of users who are downloading the update simultaneously.

To update your existing iOS device, go to Settings > General > Software Update. Keep in mind, iOS 8 is only available for an upgrade on the following devices:

  • iPad 2
  • iPad 3
  • iPad 4
