Microsoft has opened up the registration regarding the public beta for the newest 2013 Xbox Live update. This update will bring improved overall performance to the Xbox Live service as well as the ability to purchase DLC and games using local currency instead of Microsoft Points, which will be retired from use later this year.
This 2013 update can be accessed via your Xbox 360 console, but spaces are limited and access will be closed off once the quota is met. Beta testers will also need to agree to a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) for confidentiality reasons. You can find more details on the beta in this Beta FAQ.
