The original Olloclip was made possible by a Kickstarter campaign, so it makes sense for the company to revisit their roots in an attempt to raise money for their new ‘Olloclip Studio' mobile photography system.
Unlike the standard Olloclip product, the Studio version offers more than just a clip-on lens. The package provides a protective case with optional accessories that attach to increase usability in a production environment. The attachments include 1/4-20″ mounts, cold shoe adapters. a kickstand and an ergonomic handgrip.
Taking advantage of the mounting potential that the Studio kit offers, the use of an iPhone and Olloclip combo with a tripod, slider, or aftermarket accessory will be much more convenient and practical.
The Kickstarter campaign is looking to raise a goal of $100K with $27K raised at the time this article was written. The backer options run from $35 (only Studio case and Kickstand clip) all the way up to $225 which includes all Studio accessories as well as two different Olloclip lens systems.
