New ‘Oco HD’ Home Wi-Fi Camera Announced With $79 Pre-Order Pricing

A few years back, the team over at Oco sent us their original camera model for review which ended up being an excellent option for budget smart-home enthusiasts. Since then, the company has expanded with both an Oco 2 version as well as a line of outdoor camera models.

Earlier today, I received a press release about their New Oco HD camera that will ship by August 8th at the affordable price point of just $99. Better yet, pre-orders are now open, and those who invest early will receive an instant $20 discount bringing the pre-order pricing to just $79 per camera. The catch is this $20 discount is only available for the first 400 pre-orders.

Despite the Oco HD name, it is not their high-end full HD camera and instead transmits a signal in 1280 x 960px with a viewing angle of 125-degrees. This is not up to spec with their Oco 2 model which offers full 1080P with a 140-degree viewing angle yet it is also nearly half the price (taking into consideration the pre-order discount).

Like the Oco 2, this model offers both Cloud and local storage via a Micro SD card slot. Motion and sound detection is self-learning over time to help to avoid false notifications. Night vision is supported with integrated infrared lighting along with two-way audio via a built-in speaker and microphone. Advanced users can connect the Oco HD to IFTTT for conjunction with other smart-home accessories and services.
