The new Opera 15 browser was released today for both Mac and PC platforms and can be downloaded via this link. The refreshed browser has gotten a visual makeover, new ‘Discover' feature (helps keep you up to date on trends and news), and a redesigned ‘Speed Dial' menu. Also packed into this release is a web-clipping ‘Stash' feature, brand new download manager, and ‘off-road mode' which will allow you to “dumb down” web pages for use when your on a slow internet connection.
Engadget ran a SunSpider benchmark test on the Mac build of the Opera 15 browser, which scored 167ms compared to Chrome (Mac Build) that scored a slightly slower 171ms. Though there does seem to be a minimal performance increase over competing web browsers, many users are already complaining about the new Opera as seen in the YouTube comments of their release video:
