Microsoft just dropped the newest trailer for their upcoming flagship title Gears of War 4 that is slated for an October 11th release. The 59-second video lacks any in-game footage, but the cinematics showcases riveting flashbacks of Marcus Fenix tending to his farm while son J.D. experiences charming childhood memories. Switching back to modern day (25 years after Gears of War 3), J.D. is now taking after his father's legacy and ready for battle to defend his friends and family against enemy forces including a brand new villain depicted in the trailer around the 48-second mark. The trailer hits its mark set to a chilling cover of Simon and Garfunkel's ‘Sound of Slice' which fits the dreary tone of the scenes depicted.
For those interested in getting Gears of War 4 at a discount, Prime subscribers can now pre-order the title for only $47.99 (regularly $59.99).
