With Netflix's focus on original content being a successful endeavor overall, it makes sense for the streaming giant to continue moving in that direction. Earlier today, two highly anticipated new original series were each given a teaser trailer and official release dates on the platform.

Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events

A childhood classic originally written in a book form and later adapted into a movie starring Jim Carrey, this series will take on the same storyline. Three children are left as orphans after their parents tragically

Three children are left as orphans after their parents tragically perish in a fire. From there, the Baudelaire orphans are left with their distant relative, Count Olaf (played by Neil Patrick Harris) who has a secret plan to get his hands on their hefty inheritance.

The first season is scheduled to premiere on January 13, 2017, and will run eight episodes.

Iron Fist

After a string of success with series based on superheroes like their recent hit, Luke Cage, Netflix and Marvel have teamed up yet again for Iron Fist. Game of Thrones actor Finn Jones stars as Danny Rand, a man that acquired mystical powers in Asia then returns to New York to fight against evil.

The first season is scheduled to premiere on March 17, 2017.
