There are many competitors in the video streaming service market right now and strides are taken each day by these companies to try to take over the top spot. One of the biggest factors to these services' success is their ability to sign exclusive contracts with TV shows or networks that will provide new streaming content for their subscribers, which their competitors cannot gain access to.
Netflix has received complaints of lacking in the variety of conventional TV shows available to stream, but have just signed an exclusive contract with the popular FOX show New Girl. This multi-year deal will allow Netflix subscribers to stream New Girl episodes from previous seasons as well as any future seasons after their finish their initial TV runs. With competitors like Amazon signing deals on a more frequent basis, it seems Netflix is stepping up to say they too, are here to compete.
