The next season of House of Cards is set to debut on March 4th, but Netflix made a significant announcement about the hit series earlier today. After three successful seasons and a fourth coming soon, the series has officially been picked up for a fifth season which is planned to be released sometime in 2017.
This is great news for Frank Underwood fans, but there is a small catch. Beau Willimon has been the creator and writer of the series for the past five years, and he has announced that he will be taking a hiatus from the show. It seems there isn't any bad blood between Willimon and Netflix, he just understandably needs some personal time after making House of Cards a priority for the last half a decade.
