With both of the major next-gen consoles launching this month, the coming weeks should offer lots of news worth getting excited over. Those of you who can't wait to get their hands on Need For Speed Rivals will be happy to hear that EA had decided to bump up the release date to November 15th, the same day that Sony's new Playstation 4 will hit store shelves.
Previously EA had scheduled the new racing title to be available on November 22nd, but has now rearranged the release structure to the following dates:
- Rivals will launch in the U.S. on November 15th for the PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC.
- Rivals will launch in Europe on November 22nd for the PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC.
- Rivals will launch in the U.S. & Europe on November 22nd for the Xbox One.
EA's Community Manager, Jessica Damerst, had this to say about the change in plans:
“We’re stoked to be the first racing game on PS4, and believe we’re setting a new bar for driving gameplay and visuals. PS4, coupled with the Frostbite 3 engine, will give players unparalleled next-gen gaming — epic locations and vistas, stunning time of day and weather changes, and super high fidelity cars. But we’re not just about looks — what’s under the hood counts, too!”
Those of you who want to snag a pre-order of Need For Speed Rivals can still do so via Amazon in order to secure the pre-order bonuses which include a VIP Matte Kit Livery for the Aston Martin Vanquish as well as the Ultimate Cop Pack DLC that gives you access to a Nissan GT-R Black Edition cop car.
