Microsoft’s Kinect 2.0 Makes Way To PC July 15th

The invention of Microsoft's Kinect sensor revolutionized the concept of user interaction within the gaming industry. It was a massive success for the company and went on to sell over 25 million units before being replaced by the Kinect 2.0 which is included with select Xbox One packages.

The 2nd generation Kinect is much more robust thus offering new features and better functionality while keeping the same small form factor and affordable price-point. Up until now, the Kinect 2.0 has been exclusive to the Xbox One although Microsoft has officially stated that the revamped peripheral will be released in a PC-compatible version starting July 15th.

The Kinect 2.0 for Windows will be priced in the $200 range which does seem steep considering the Kinect 2.0 for Xbox One only costs $100 more via the bundled price. However, the original Kinect for PC is currently selling on Amazon for $216 so it will actually be lower in price when compared to its predecessor. Check out the source link below for more details.
