Microsoft has come forward this morning with some pretty big news concerning their highly-anticipated, next-gen console the Xbox One. Since being unveiled back in May, there have been no concrete details released pertaining the Xbox One's release date besides a promise of a “holiday 2013” release. This left many consumers in the dark especially when it comes to pre-ordering the console. I for one, was not ready to put down that large of a sum of money when I wasn't sure exactly when the console would be released and this has also been a concern for many prospective buyers that I have talked to.
Luckily as of this morning, Microsoft has confirmed the Xbox One will be available in the US on November 22nd which is earlier than the initial rumors, but still a bit disappointing as it is a week later than the PS4's US release date (November 15th). This initial launch date will take place in 13 locations including: UK, Eire, Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, US, CAN, MEX, BRA, AUS, and NZ. If you don't live in one of these areas, don't worry the Xbox One will still likely launch in our location although you'll probably have to wait a few months for that to happen.
In case you haven't heard, the Xbox One will retail for $500 and includes:
- Xbox One console
- New wireless controller
- All-new & improved Kinect sensor
- All the various cables needed for TV hookup
Engadget has stated that the Xbox One will include a wired headset (for voice chatting), but we have previously reported that they will not be including this accessory and it will be sold separately. There is also the limited edition Xbox One ‘Day One' console which includes the same components as the standard console, but includes a special design on the included controller as well as an achievement exclusive to ‘Day One' edition owners.
