Microsoft's recently began offering a sweet holiday discount for their Kinect-less Xbox One console and this strategy has proven to be a smart decision with sales figures increasing rapidly. Luckily, the company hasn't forgot about those of us who dished out cash for the new console on its initial release date last year. They are rewarding Day One buyers with a free copy of the popular title Limbo, which just made its debut on the platform this week.
Eligible recipients should have received the following messages to their Xbox Live accounts yesterday and this morning:
This gift came as a surprise as it was not previously announced by the company and was not included in the year one perks that all Xbox One owners received yesterday:
- A Year One Gamer Picture
- New Xbox One backgrounds: A special Year One background as well as an exclusive Day One background for those who unlocked the Day One achievement
- A Year One background image
- A free rental of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn
- A free rental of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods movie and a sampler pack ofDragon Ball Z TV episodes (U.S. and Canada only)
Am I overly excited about the free copy of Limbo? Not really, but it is at least something to make up for the fact that us Day One owners paid a hefty premium over the lower-end models that are being offered today.
