It seems Samsung isn't the only one who decided an NYC press event is worthy of their newest smartphone unveiling. LG has officially announced a press event of their own on May 1st regarding their new ‘Optimus G Pro' smartphone which is currently only available in a global model, but has yet to be offered in the United States. If the Optimus G Pro does not receive any cosmetic or technical changes, we should expect a 5.5-inch 1080P display, Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, a 2.1MP front camera, and 13MP rear camera.

Stay tuned for an in-depth update of the LG press event after it takes place on May 1st.
