New LG Android Wear 2.0 Smartwatches Leak Online

Our friends over at Android Police got their hands on potential information about two upcoming LG smartwatches that are slated for release later this year. While there have been rumors circulating that Google has been busy working on two new Android Wear devices, there hasn't been many details available until today.

According to the source, there are two different smartwatch models dubbed ‘Angelfish' and ‘Swordfish' that will soon come to market shortly after the release of the new Nexus phones. The different between the two devices will primarily be the look and feel with one geared for style and another for sport.

The Style iteration is said to be the more entry-level option with a 1.2-inch 360 x 360 circular display, 4GB of storage, 512MB of RAM, an integrated 240mAh battery and Bluetooth/Wifi connectivity. It is sleek with three color options (Rose Gold, Silver, Titanium) with swappable straps and a low profile casing.

The Sport version is larger and bulkier with a 1.38-inch 480 x 480 display with support for cellular data, GPS, heart rate tracking and Android Pay. It will pack 768MB of RAM and a 430mAh battery.

Android Police did post an image mockup (embedded above) which is said to “accurately depict the source material” although they are recreations of the leaked images they received, done so to protect the anonymity of the source who provided them.

Exactly when they and how much each version will sell for are two big questions that are still up in the air although February 10th is rumored. With Casio and New Balance having already announced Android Wear 2.0 enabled watches that seem more appealing on paper than these new LG models, it will be interesting to see how well these fair at the market.
