For months, there has been a trending rumor circulating about Apple's future plans to debut a 12-inch ‘iPad Pro' model. While the Cupertino-based company has been quiet about the potential for this device, Mac Fan has published a series of drawings that claim to be an upcoming 12-inch tablet model based on the iPad Air's design.
According to the leaked blueprints, the 12-inch iPad model will be dubbed the ‘iPad Air Plus' instead of the previous rumored ‘iPad Pro'. It is said to sport a 12.2-inch display, four speakers for stereo audio output in any orientation and be powered by a new A9 processor. Mac Fan also believes the model will be released sometime between April and June of next year.
Should we trust this type of leak? Not entirely, as we have no concrete basis to believe the rumors at this time. However, it would make sense for Apple to transition into a bigger, more professional centered iPad model especially after the great success they have had with the iPhone 6 Plus thus far. Another key thing to remember is that Mac Fan has been the source of legitimate leaks in the past including details about both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus prior to their release.
