If you are a subscriber to Spotify or Apple Music, you likely haven't experienced much trouble accessing your favorite artist's music through either platform. However, Jay Z fans will be disappointed to know that the “king of rap” has made the decision to remove the majority of his albums from these two popular streaming services.
Spotify does still offer a few singles and miscellaneous albums under Jay Z's artist page, but the remaining tracks are primarily collaborations with other artists like Kanye West or R. Kelly.
This is no mistake as Engadget spoke to a Spotify rep who stated: “some of his catalog was removed by request of the artist”. For those who are avid Jay Z listeners, you can still opt to listen to his full library on competing services like Tidal (owned by the man himself) or on Google Play Music.
