Introducing The New GoPro HERO3+: Faster, Smaller, Better

When the GoPro camera came on to the scene, it revolutionized the future of television, films, and even home movies. It has allowed us to get behind the driver's seat (quite literally) in some of the coolest and most daring situations possible. A prime example would be Felix Baumgartner's freefall from space which was a monumental feat that we would never would have had ability to witness from a first person perspective. The GoPro has been so successful that it actually has made the Founder of the company, Nick Woodman, a full-fledged billionaire.

Yesterday, the camera company released their latest GoPro model which is an updated version of their existing HERO3 model and improves upon its design as well as the internal components. This new model is now 20% smaller which is rather astounding as their earlier models were already smaller than any competing camera of its caliber on the market. New features for their flagship Black Edition model include a 1080 “SuperView” mode which is able to take footage with an aspect ratio of 4:3 and display it with a 16:9 ratio thus producing that wide-angle perspective, 30% longer battery life, better low light performance, and 4x faster Wi-Fi (for use with GoPro app).

Here is the official word from GoPro concerning the changes to these new models:
