Microsoft had landed a gold mine when they debuted the original Halo exclusively on their Xbox console, and this decision has paid off immensely selling over 60 million copies of franchise-related titles to date. Last year, a very different form of Halo debuted on Windows 8, Windows Phone, and Xbox One in the form of a top-down shooter called Halo: Spartan Assault.
Today, Microsoft has released the successor to this title dubbed Halo: Spartan Strike. Just like the original, this version offers the same top-down style yet it now incorporates the newer Promethean enemies made famous by Halo 4. One of the biggest surprises with the announcement of this sequel was that it is the first time any Halo title is made available for iOS devices.
Check out the launch trailer below, and those interested can now download the title on your iOS device for $5.99.
