Christmas Eve just got a bit more exciting as Microsoft has announced its plans to launch Halo: Spartan Assault for Xbox One this holiday season. Traditionally, Microsoft usually launches a new Halo title just before the holiday season and the popular franchise seems to keep on producing as time goes by.
Halo: Spartan Assault was originally developed for Windows 8 and the Windows Phone 8, however it will be extended to the Xbox One system via a digital download at a $14.99 price tag. The similarities between that of the Windows 8/Windows 8 Phone versions and the Xbox One are down to the tee and will include an available new online co-op mode with various missions.
To all current Xbox 360 owners who have not pulled the trigger on the expensive next-gen console, don't hold your head down just yet. The 360 edition is scheduled to be released this upcoming January. Microsoft will be providing a discount for the Xbox One version for those who have already purchased this title on Windows 8/Windows 8 Phone. Gamers who have purchased one of the existing versions before December 15th will be able to acquire the Xbox One edition for $4.99. While this isn't the a drastic discount, it is far better than paying the full retail of the game. Be sure to check out Halo: Spartan Assault when it hits the Xbox One marketplace on December 24th.
