It hasn’t been a good past few months for GoPro, first Amazon stopped selling their newest Hero 5 models over pricing conflicts and then their highly-anticipated Karma drone was recalled over safety concerns. The Karma recall was warranted as several reports surfaced of the batteries were coming loose mid-flight resulting in unexpected crashes.
Fortunately, only 2,500 units were shipped before the recall was not as widespread as expected. If you were one of the 2,500 consumers affected by this recall, GoPro has posted a guide on how to return your entire Karma unit for a full refund. There is no option to exchange for a working Karma as the issue hasn’t been fixed yet from a manufacturing standpoint.
This is a huge pain to early adopters of the Karma especially with the holiday season almost here. GoPro realizes this and is going the extra mile to keep these customers from hesitating to do business with the company again.
