Over the years Google has provided hundreds of millions of users with access to the huge library of free Google software and products. The Google Apps suite has been a very successful free service for small businesses and large enterprises alike, but according to a statement by Google this morning this service will not be available for free any longer. The new cost is $50 per year to enable access for new users and this includes 25GB inboxes, 24/7 phone support and a 99.9% uptime guarantee. It is not a huge expense to most businesses, but something that will notably have to be factored into future budgeting. With this change coming from Google we can't help, but think of other services changing to a paid status. While our favorite apps such as Gmail and Google Analytics are still free, their future could deem otherwise. Would you pay for access to certain Google products that are currently free?
