When Google launched their ‘Assistant' voice technology for their Android operating system, consumers using the latest devices were able to take immediate benefit. However, even after the latest updates running older devices prior to Marshmallow (Android 6.0) were still left without this luxury.
However, the Big G has now changed this with an announcement that Assistant is now available for those running Lollipop (Android 5.0) as well. The roll-out has begun this morning in several countries with support for more than just English.
Beyond this, Google Assistant is also rolling out to tablets running supported operating systems over the next week. However, to start this will only be available for users in the U.S. with their language set to English.
