The ‘Golden Globes’ Will Be Streamed Online For The First Time

While the much of the consumer market is cutting the cord from traditional cable or satellite subscriptions and moving to existing streaming services, major television events like sporting events award shows are beginning to offer live viewing online.

This year, the Golden Globe Awards will be offering online streaming of the entire ceremony live on the NBC website, their mobile app and through streaming services like DirecTV Now, Hulu Live TV, Sling TV, PlayStation Vue and YouTube TV. For those looking for extra behind the scenes interviews and red-carpet coverage, they will be airing content on Facebook Live.

It should be an exciting year as many original shows popular streaming services are included. Netflix is nominated for nine awards (The Crown, Stranger Things, Master of None, Ozark, 13 Reasons Why, Glow), Hulu is nominated for three (The Handmaid's Tale), and Amazon has been nominated for two (I Love Dick, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel).

For those interested in tuning in, you can stream the 75th annual Golden Globes live on January 7th at 8 PM EST.
