Apple's effort to include all the health tracking sensors within their latest iPhone models will finally pay off with Nike's signature Fuel app. Previously this application required a separate Fuelband purchase in order to monitor health statistics, but the newest software update adds support for Apple's HealthKit platform.
It is now possible to track your everyday activity levels solely by way of your iPhone's sensor and the app will convert it into the ‘NikeFuel' metric that is has been known for in the past. This decision to ditch the Fuelband requirement is likely in preparation for Apple's Watch release, a device that will also be deeply connected within the HealthKit ecosystem.
