Netflix has been stocking their streaming service with major motion pictures from Lionsgate, MGM, and Paramount thanks to a deal with EPIX. Word broke yesterday that the Netflix/EPIX partnership would be coming to an end, and we have now found out that Hulu will be picking up the expired deal.
Hulu Plus, Hulu's premium streaming service has been running for quite some time now though their specialty has always been more focused on TV shows than movies. Thanks to the deal with EPIX, the service will soon be offering recent hits like Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation, Interstellar, Selma, Top Five and The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water.
In the past, Hulu's subscriber numbers have been far outweighed by Netflix, but will this transition help ease the gap? Only time will tell. Until then, be sure to watch all your EPIX movies on Netflix (or sign up for Hulu Plus) as they will make the switch on October 1st.
