In the past, Amazon has attempted to stir up more sales through their ‘Prime Day' event which like Black Friday offers discounts on thousands of physical goods. While they put a lot of effort into hyping it up every year, the past two Prime Day sales events have been mediocre at best as a result of a poor selection of sale items.
For the first time, Amazon is holding a digital-only sales event which will take place this Friday, December 30th starting at midnight. The event is dubbed ‘Amazon Digital Day' and will include discounts on all things digital including movies, TV shows, ebooks, software, apps, game downloads and even services like Amazon Rapids or Amazon Music Unlimited.
The company is offering a sneak peek at some of the discounted digital goods that will be included in the promotion found on the Digital Day landing page until the event kicks off. From what it looks like, the teaser digital content matches the appeal of Prime Day in that there seems to be a lot of deals offered yet the advertised selection is either unappealing or outdated.
Unfortunately, it appears that the e-commerce giant will NOT be discounting their coveted annual Prime Membership which will remain at its $99/year price-point per usual.
Stay tuned for a full round-up of the best Amazon Digital Day deals once the promotion has begun!
