Apple’s first wearable device hasn’t been the most successful device from the Cupertino-based company thus far yet its limited availability in traditional retail outlets likely played a significant factor. Up until now, Apple has limited sales to their website, physical Apple Store locations and select high-end boutiques.
Best Buy, a longtime retailer of Apple products, has just announced their plans to sell the Apple Watch in-store starting on August 7th. The initial rollout will include 100 Best Buy locations as well as availability on Best Buy online. In preparation for the holiday shopping season, the chain plans to expand to another 200 additional locations over the next few months.
Best Buy locations will offer the ability to try and buy over 16 Apple Watch variants with both the Sport and Watch models as well as various accessories like watch bands, screen protectors, stands and charging accessories.
