Destiny is Bungie's first game since their massively successful Halo series and the new title is scheduled to hit store shelves on September 9th. If you've been out of the loop, Bungie is currently running a beta on the PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, and Xbox One though it has been exclusive to those who have an access code that came with every pre-order.

That is until 7PM yesterday when Bungie extended the beta access to everyone regardless of whether they pre-ordered the title. This is the case on all four platforms so head to the digital marketplace on your console of choice and download the free beta in order to experience the unreleased title for yourself.
Naturally, I wanted to try out the beta for myself so I hopped on my Xbox One and started the 12.63GB download. Depending on your Internet, this may take a few hours (mine took under an hour with my 50MB/s Internet plan). So far, I've put about 40 minutes into playing the beta and it surely has potential although I was quite disappointed in the sluggish loading times and the long opening cinematics that were unable to be skipped. The gameplay itself has a familiar, Halo-like feel to it which was pleasing in my book.
