Even though the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus models are still only about halfway into their product cycle, that isn't stopping the rumors about the next generation smartphone models due from Apple this upcoming Fall.
While the traditional release pattern would suggest a 7s and 7s Plus being the next devices to be released, The Wall Street Journal is reporting that a special 10th Anniversary iPhone 8 will debut alongside two updated ‘S' models.
The Wall Street Journal's source is remaining anonymous, but they did give a bit more detail on what to expect on the 10th Anniversary iPhone 8, and it sounds like they might push the envelope with this release.
An upcoming iPhone 8 is said to offer an all-glass design with a curved OLED display and swap out the existing lightning connection for a universal USB-C port. Furthermore, wireless charging capabilities will be integrated into the design along with a touchscreen chin at the bottom of the device replacing a more traditional home button.
Several reports have stated this higher-end iPhone model will debut for a hefty price starting at $1K for the base model although it is too early to tell if there is validity to these claims.
