Microsoft plans to make significant moves and attempt to win back some Mac adopters with the launch of Windows 10 on July 29th. While the new version will be a free digital upgrade for any existing users running a qualifying version of Windows 7 or 8, the standalone OS will be available for purchase via a USB drive.
The pricing will be $120 for Windows Home and $200 for Windows Professional though the USB versions are not slated to ship until August 30th, over a month later than the OS is officially released to the public. Amazon is the first resource to begin offering preorders of the Windows 10 USB sticks though they will not ship until the August 30th date.
