As an example of a mission that drove me nuts was body parts for Zed and getting Skag parts - I spent hours trying to find a way over the bridge to no avail (don't waste your time - there is no way over without doing other missions but it would be nice if they told you) and then what seemed to be about 4 hours doing side missions that finally filled the gap by fighting for Buzzard Choppers to force fill the gap in the bridge to get the Skag parts and once there it took about 30 seconds to gather - phew, talk about anti-climatic after hours and hours of battles!
The menu system is cool looking but can be confusing after playing B1 for nearly two yrs where I played all characters to level 69 PT2 it's challenging trying to figure weapon strengths and money accumulation seems a bit wimpy after 3 days. Wish they'd left the Menu navigation for weapons unchanged as you start from square one trying to figure what works and it makes it hard to decide on what to farm and sell for cash. This piece is dramatically different - for instance I've yet to see an elemental weapon have and X1-X4 designation to measure strength.
Hate the Mail/Pkg Delivery Missions on SOLO as they seem impossible and simply seem to be a waste of time that someone pulled from some old games I used to play and I hated them then and continue to - simply not needed and besides Co-op's can cheat at these missions whereas solo cannot.
KUDO POINTS (based on just a few days XBox AXTON (Turrets) Solo play and lots to come) include
Graphics are far superior
* Object gathering of money and ammo in open areas often is automatic even driving over gathers - contained items need the "X" pressed. Seems to be far less loot or the game is so much more difficult SOLO that it gets drained.
* Modifying your character is vastly more extensive with earned Bad*ss Points and Eridium = looong game play/replay.
* Vehicles Weapons operate much better and more manuerverable but seems to be far more bandits and air enemies than B1.
* Weapons are a learning experience but they are much better but still learning to judge - Sniper Rifle Critical Hits are way better - this is much improved as are the turrets. Many new weapons that are awesome and operate very differently but cool as hell with many. Love the new Homing imploding grenades.
* Massive numbers of new enemies and variety to learn.
* Enemy AI and movement is better/more illusive forcing use of Melee much more and their dialogue can be hilarious at times as they approach.
* Battles ARE much more intense and I mean HUGE compared to BD1.
* You have to earn your road kill - they no longer burst like bubbles - you have to wear them down with weapons and running over they feel more 3D during the kills - they get up and continue fighting if you fail to do them in while down.
* Holy Shit moments when you come up against some of the numerous spawning metallic enemies when trying to rescue Roland and that dang power core and the Constructor Bots that spawn thru-out.
* The guys with the Full Frontal Shields and the midgets strapped to the front is hilarious - Lot's of Humor in this thing.
* Still addictive though frustrating learning a totally new Menu System that looks great but tosses out what you spent a few yrs using.
* After playing for a week it feels like there's about ten times the enemies and if there are two playthru's the first feels like PT2 already.
* Tons of Aerial Enemies and situations where your fighting both land/air simultaneous and the Buzzards Heli's are pretty humorous.
* Following the mapping sometimes is the most frustrating part and Pandora World on this Game is VASTLY Larger!
In fact, before diving into any new area scout the landscape for cover and be prepared to run for cover since some of the Bosses having things like heat seeking missiles and laser fire that kills you in seconds.
Can harvest eridium in some boss areas like the small fortress adjacent to Pig Motel with a brief battle with Bad Maw and about 4 others gets 1 - 5 eridium via play, save and quit rinse and repeat - also at Eridium Blight there's King Mong that drops eridium as well as the slot machines at Moxxi's.
Love the Game even though half the time I don't know whats going on - it remains addictive FUN despite some of the frustrations and changes from B1 - I won't penalize any points for frustrations in learning new weapon menu's because so much of the friggin game is improved and in this day and age of 8 hour to completion video games this series remains an addictive looong play replay VALUE KING IMO!
Yes, the game has it's frustration doing it SOLO as did B1 but this is a vast improvement with tons of replay value - but it doesn't seem that I'm going to have endless loot like I did in BD1 doing it SOLO anyways. They put alot of work into this sequel - it's not your typical follow-up game this game is vastly improved but takes some patience to learn it's menu system and tons of new enemies/territories and challenges!
ENJOY! Well worth the money IMO!:D
Story: Without giving out too much, there actually is a very interesting and fun story to play through. I have played through it twice, and found it good both times. You play as a new vault hunter, who is targeted by the cruel and somewhat hilarious Handsome Jack. He despises you, hates you, and yet can make you laugh time after time. He reminds me of Glados from the Portal series. You also get to play alongside the former vault hunters from the original Borderlands, so you actually learn more about them as well. Even the side missions that I considered a chore in the first game were unique and interesting, some being better than others. Some are insanely difficult, while others take one bullet.
Gameplay: Gearbox does a great job at keeping the unique idea of an RPG/FPS combination while still creating an entirely different type of game. The controls are smooth and easy to learn. There are NPCs that walk around and say interesting or funny things. One of the most exciting things for me was all of the references that were made throughout the game. Some were hidden easter eggs, while others were pop culture references intertwined within a mission title. Almost every single mission has a hidden reference of some sort, which keeps the game fresh and exciting as you recognize more and more. If you ever got tired of just killing skag and bandit over and over, that stops here. There are a wide variety of enemies: Hyperion robots, four armed arctic "Bullymongs," tactical soldiers, Raging Goliaths, and of course the illusive "Midget Boner." Their stats and names change completely as you level up higher, so again, this adds to the replay value. The leveling system is also quite a bit better. I found that my character's stats improved exponentially. His health multiplied higher and higher until the point of amazement, and the damage weapons could do was breathtaking.
Weapons: This subject deserves a separate paragraph, mainly because there are SO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM. I feel that one of the things that the Borderlands series has that others games don't is an incredibly wide variety of guns. Some guns have elemental effects, others throw a grenade when reloaded. Automatic pistols, shields that deal damage to enemies, and seeking grenades are just a few of my favorite weapons. There are always new weapons to be found and new loot to be had. Also, there are special items known as relics, which can boost certain stats, such as the chance of finding rare loot. There is such a diverse amount of weaponry that no two playthroughs will be the same.
Graphics: Borderlands 2 is one of the most beautiful games of 2012. Sure, it doesn't have a more realistic approach like Halo 4 or Battlefield 3, but the details are still outstanding. The coloring, saturation, and diversity of environments is such a step up from the original Borderlands, and really creates more of an RPG feeling. I feel that it is a true work of art. Gearbox manages to create a beautiful picturesque and detailed view, but at the same time keeps their original thick-lined and artsy style.
In the end, Borderlands 2 is a great game. It suits several different gamers, with its mix of a few different genres. Personally, I played RPGs and FPSs quite a bit, and I absolutely loved this game. If there ever is a Borderlands 3, I will be sure to buy it. For now, I will enjoy the DLC that comes out for this game.

Some say you have to play in group but i finished it with relative ease by myself.
To play solo, you have to do all the little mission so your character has enough level. Takes about 30 hours, Long solo game.
Great game, love the guns, the shooting and the voice acting. The story is not super elaborated but hey, you get to shoot lotsa creatures.
