Bose has quite a reputation backed by millions of happy consumers over the past several years. Their mission is to make a serious effort into the research and design of their products which shines through in the finished product. After releasing the Quiet Comfort 15s, Bose took the high end noise canceling headphone market by storm. It is priced on par with the popular Beats by Dre and Sync By 50 headsets, but surpasses their features in the majority of criteria. Now, lets take a deeper look into these beautiful headphones.
The Bose QC 15s are on a whole new level when it comes to their appeal. They have a sleek, but professional look to them. They are not bulky and fit to your head tightly and securely without getting bothersome. While the Beats models might have “swag”, the QC 15s ooze class out of every pore. It is not uncommon to see celebrities rocking these headphones on TV, in magazines, or in movies. They look fitting on people of all ages and get attention from onlookers when worn in public.
Design & Build Quality
The folks over at Bose are geniuses when it comes to design. The Quiet Comfort 15s are considered over ear headphones which means they cover your ears completely. This causes no pressure on your ears unlike the on-ear models which often result in irritation over extended use. They fit like a glove and feel amazingly comfortable. The pads around the ears feature a leather that is as soft and forgiving as you can imagine. During our testing we had used them for 3-4 hour stretches and there were times where we forgot we were wearing headphones since they were so comfortable.
The build materials are of high quality and the headphones feel stable enough to last for a long time. In order to better protect your headphones, Bose also included a free protective storage case that is perfect for traveling.
To have the headphones function and take advantage of the noise canceling feature, you must insert a AAA battery into one of the ears. To preserve this battery's lifespan you are required to flip an on/off switch to be able to use the headphones. Luckily, on a single battery the headphones can last up to 35 hours of use.
Features & Function
The Bose Quiet Comfort 15's boast an impressive noise canceling system that can quiet background noise across a wide range of frequencies. This noise canceling is hands down the best functioning out of all of the competitors in this price range beating both the Beats and Sync headsets with ease. Something that is also neat is that you do not have to listen to music in order to take care of the noise canceling. In fact the cord detaches quickly and easily from the headset (see photos). This is most useful for those long flights sitting near the crying baby or drowning out the chatter in a dorm room while you study.
The sound quality is satisfying with rich tones, acoustics, and bass. The audio performance matched with the noise canceling makes a killer combo that gives you a listening experience that is unlike no other we have tested. Some of you audio snobs out there will likely say you can get better sound quality alone for the $300 price tag, which you are likely right. But you will be missing out on the excellent noise canceling features and the brand name that stands behind these headphones. If neither are important to you, then do what you'd like and spend your money on a less expensive alternative such as the Shure SRH840 headphones.
The Bose Quiet Comfort 15s from experience are the best set of noise canceling headphones available at this price point. They provide superior performance, portability (love the included carrying case), and frankly they look the classiest out of all the competing models. We HIGHLY recommend purchasing these headphones if you have the budget to do so. We believe they are superior to both the Sync by 50 and Beats by Dre competitors. Bose is the cadillac of audio equipment and they are a company we love to do business with.
What Are Other's Saying About The Bose Quiet Comfort 15's?
“…these are probably the best-sounding noise-canceling headphones we've heard to date.”
Bass is fairly well-managed and the sound signature is enjoyable, but it won't completely satisfy audio purists with a $300 budget
True to its name, the Bose QuietComfort 15 is incredibly comfortable.
