Amazon's Echo lineup has been a hit for the company, selling over 8M units (as of February 2017) and controlling over 70% of the voice-assistant market. We initially reviewed the Echo right after launch and found it to disappoint with the lack of compatibility with third-party products and services for the price.
Fortunately, Amazon has been working diligently on partnering with these third-party brands and has been releasing plenty of integrations with existing content services and smart home products. These include big names like Spotify, DISH, LIFX, Nest, Philips Hue, Uber, Dominos, Kayak and more.
The company recently ran a promotion on the majority of their Echo lineup for Father's Day which offered a $40 discount on original Echo. While that was a significant discount, Amazon has upped the bar and running a one-day promotion today offering the original Echo in black or white for just $129 bringing the total discount to $50.
Keep in mind, this is the lowest we have seen the Echo go for since its official launch (it was originally for $99 during the closed beta) and the promotion is only valid for today Monday, June 26th until 11:59 PM EST.
