The Kuzy A1398 Case for 15″ Retina Macbook Pro is an affordable case to protect your expensive laptop.
Spending $2000+ on a Retina Macbook Pro is quite an expensive purchase (though worth it by all means!). In order to protect this investment it is highly suggest that you purchase a protective case to keep your laptop from the basic wear and tear it will receive over time. After buying my Retina, the first thing I did was scour through Amazon looking for any cases available for it. The only one available at the time was the Kuzy A1398 Case, but I was desperate and the $40 price tag was low enough for me to give it a shot.
The case came in a couple of days and I opened it up quickly excited to attach it to my laptop and have some future piece of mind that it was protected. My first initial reaction was this case is great. It looked nice when on my Retina Macbook Pro and the crystal finish kept the beauty of the laptop intact. I also was able to access all of the inputs and nothing was constricted by the addition of the case. At this point in time, I thought I found a bargain and was very happy with my purchase.
Fast forward a week or so and the truth of the matter finally was finally beginning to come out. It became evident to me that the corners of my case were developing tiny cracks just from normal everyday use. I keep extra special care of my Macbook since it is one of the most expensive things I own so believe me when I say I did nothing whatsoever to warrant this type of cracking. As each day went by the cracking grew and began to spider its way along becoming deeper and more noticeable.
At this point I was extremely fed up and annoyed so I contacted the company. They assured me this must be a defective case and would ship me a new one right away. I received the replacement and was yet again happy thinking I just got unlucky and this time around it would end up much better. It wasn't before long that I realized I was in for another disappointment. This case developed the same cracking in the same spots, but in an even shorter amount of time than the last one. The worst part about this cracking is that once it spread over time, the corners became jagged and sharp giving me little cuts and nicks each time I reached into my backpack to pull my laptop out.
Now if you need further verification that this is a product problem and not something I'm doing wrong hear me out. A good friend of mine bought his Retina the same day I did and also purchased the same Kuzy case the same time as me. As soon as I noticed cracking in the first case I received I called him up and found out his was doing the same thing. We had both contacted Kuzy were both send replacements and both of them cracked just like the originals we received. To validate my claim even further the vast majority of the reviews shown on Amazon mention the same problem (these reviews were not present at my initial time of purchase):
The funny thing is Kuzy has realized this and have done whatever they could to save face and keep selling the faulty cases regardless of the bad reviews. To try and accomplish this they dropped the price significantly as it is now selling for only $25. Showing a sense of being even more desperate they decided to bribe previous buyers with the following email below in which I personally received myself:

Feeling ripped off and annoyed I was fed up with product and bummed to have wasted my money on it. Searching for alternatives, I ended up purchasing the Speck Case for the Retina Macbook Pro and it is a far superior product. I would HIGHLY recommend staying far far away from this product as it is nowhere near the bargain that I thought I had found. The case is aesthetically designed well, but when it comes to durability and the overall build quality it is the worst of the worst.
