It is common for someone to spend hundreds and often thousands of dollars on a DSLR camera and additional lenses. Since there is so much money invested, it is essential to keep a camera like this in perfect condition in order to achieve optimal performance and longevity. This can be a tricky task as there are many products on the market whom are intended to clean a DSLR components, but are too messy or have serious potential to do harm to your camera.

The people over at LensPen have realized this issue and bundled three of their great products to form the DSLR Pro Kit. This kit combines three of their most popular camera cleaning pens the LensPen NLP-1, FilterKlear NLFK-1, and the MicroPro NMCP-1. If you were to buy these three items separately they would each cost $14.95, but the MSRP of the LensPen DSLR Pro Kit is only $34.95 and better yet, the kit can be purchased for just under $17 at retailers like Amazon or Adorama.

IMG_7774The DSLR Pro Kit comes neatly packaged and on the rear you'll find a quick lowdown on how to use the product. For cleaning your traditional camera lens and optical items, the LensPen NLP-1 is the suitable candidate for the job. If you're looking to safely clean your filters, the FilterKlear NLFK-1 is there to save the day. Lastly, the MicroPro NMCP-1 is the ideal choice to clean those hard to reach areas such as your DSLR's viewfinder. In addition to the three LensPen products, they also throw in a microfiber carrying case that holds the three pens when not in use and it can also double as a cleaning cloth.

The great thing about these products is that they are really simple to use and contain no liquids. One on end you will find a retractable brush that is used to remove any dirt, dust or debris from the intended cleaning area. On the other end, there is a carbon tip that is hidden by a screw on cap. This tip contains a patented carbon compound that provides sufficient cleaning without the need for any messy liquids. Each tip is sized accordingly to fit the component it is designed to clean and are expected to last over 500 uses.

It is important to use each pen properly as you can cause damage to your DSLR's components if you're not careful. By this I mean you should always be sure to use the brush end first to remove any existing debris from the area you are cleaning then transition to the carbon tip. If you were to use the carbon tip first, it is possible to trap dirt or other harmful particles between the carbon tip and your lens which could scratch your lens as you attempt to clean the lens.

Don't worry, if you can remember to use the brush tip first, the whole cleaning process is an absolute breeze and works remarkably well. It takes me a quarter of the time it used to clean my DSLR and this time savings paid for itself quickly. When you take into consideration the added convenience of not having to deal with cleaning up any messy liquids, it really is a no brainer. The DSLR Pro Kit has kept me satisfied and makes the whole cleaning process a simple and efficient process. I've always found it difficult to clean my Canon DSLR's viewfinder as it is very concave and difficult to access with other cleaning products, but by utilizing the MicroPro it has never been easier and I wished I had purchased it earlier.

In the end, I found the LensPen DSLR Pro Kit to be an excellent product that transformed my DSLR's cleaning process from a long and dreadful task into a fast and efficient one. Considering how much money I have spend on DSLR equipment in the past, it is a no brainer for me to invest $17 into the best cleaning kit currently on the market. If you really care about your DSLR and lenses then I highly recommend you purchase this kit as it will help keep your gear in top shape for many years to come and pay for itself in the long run.
