The HitCase SuckR is a suction mount meant that is compatible with both the HitCase or GoPro cameras.

When using a camera such as the GoPro or an iPhone coupled with the HitCase, chances are you'll want to capture some awesome point-of-view shots while driving your car, boat, or other type of vehicle. The easiest and most effective way of producing epic shots in these scenarios is to utilize a suction mount which can produce those cool, out of the ordinary angles that make up some awesome footage. There is a suction mount on the market produced by HitCase called the SuckR, which also happens to be GoPro compatible so I gave it for a spin!

IMG_8202The packaging for the SuckR is not fancy and pretty basic, but it gets the job done. Inside you'll find two pieces that need to be combined together and locked in place to make up the SuckR mount. It is a simple installation and you'll be up and running in a matter of minutes. The build quality of the SuckR mount is very solid and well-produced, but the black coating on the material does look like it will be easily susceptible to scratches or dings though this will not hinder the performance in anyway.

When it comes to the design, the SuckR mount really shines. By utilizing a combination of two ball-joints, the SuckR mount has the ability to be highly adjusted and configured to capture virtually any angle you desire. The nice part about this ball-joint setup is that there is one central knob that locks both joints in place when tightened. This takes the hassle out of the adjustment process and makes it easy to make necessary adjustments on the fly.

On the bottom of the mount, you'll find the RAM suction cup which is of a very high quality and can be clamped down by twisting the lever located above it. If you have own a HitCase, the top features the signature rail-mount system that allows you to attach/detach your HitCase in a mere seconds. If you're looking to utilize this mount with a GoPro action camera instead, all you need to do is simply remove the screw for the rail mount and replace it with your GoPro.

Due to the size and design of the SuckR, I was able to find dozens of awesome spots to place it on my car and capture video from unique angles. It sticks to both glass and the exterior of my vehicle's body with immense strength. I never thought I'd be comfortable attaching something so expensive (my iPhone 5 & $130 HitCase) to the top of my vehicle where it is susceptible to potential damage, but after testing the SuckR mount and its RAM suction capabilities, I feel comfortable and reassured enough to trust this mount in almost any situation.

I have only tested this mount on a car, windows, and desktop, but HitCase states it is ideal for use with the following:

  • Cars
  • Motorcycles
  • Jet skis
  • Snowmobiles
  • Boats
  • ATVs
  • Other motor vehicles

In the end, I found the HitCase SuckR mount to be a stellar suction mount for use with a GoPro or HitCase. It features an innovative design, solid performance, and high adjustability making for a killer overall product. The SuckR mount is very user-friendly and requires little assembly therefore I would recommend it to any prospective buyers who are looking for a quality suction mount at a reasonable price tag.

Special thanks to HitCase for providing a sample SuckR to make this review possible!
