While Amazon’s first Prime Day was rather underwhelming, the company has just confirmed this year’s version will take place in just a few weeks. For those who aren’t familiar with the event, Amazon offers a temporarily 24-hour discount on tens of thousands of items exclusively for active Prime members.
Prime Day 2016 will begin at 12 AM PT on Tuesday, July 12th with deals being added every five minutes throughout the day. Amazon touts that this year’s event will hardness over 100,000 deals that will be exclusive to Prime members only.
According to the company, last year’s Prime Day sales resulted in 398 items ordered per second which surpassed the Black Friday records at that time.
